For a few months now we were working on a new technology of our loudspeaker enclosures. Since the internal construction is a bit complicated, mainly because of zero tolerance for resonances of the internal elements of the construction, I was busy designing some improvements.
The result of it is a current model of EVA. Let’s say make III.

You can see on the photos certain stages of the assembly and finishing works.
The current enclosure is made of several layers of plywood routed inside and glued together.
I taught that it could be very interesting to make a collage of the wood and the composite material and profiling the edges, especially the vertical ones. I wanted several objectives to be achieved: to reduce diffraction effect, improve aesthetics (but this is a matter of taste) and reduce the risk of a potential damage to the edges. Besides there is also another advantage. After years of using them, if there would have been any signs of use, some scratches to the surface, it can be easily restored to as new state.
